A collection of five volumes containing a brief history of Fort Edward N.Y. and a biographical sketch of John Henry Lydius, the first settler of Fort Edward. The volumes contain 361 pages of a typewritten narrative manuscript on the early history of the town. The volumes also contain approximately 300 original or duplicates of original manuscripts from the period. These manuscripts include maps, portraits, deeds, official documents and letters. Included are documents and signatures of Sir William Johnson, Philip Schuyler, General John Burgoyne, John McCrea, George Clinton, and General Thomas Gage.
